Mahama mourns Nandom chief

The presidential candidate of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama, on Saturday, 6 April 2019 joined the chiefs and people of Nandom in the Upper West Region for the funeral service of the late paramount chief of the Nandom Traditional Area, Naa Dr Puoure Puobe Chiir VII.

The Nandom Naa, according to Mr Mahama, was for many decades, a strong pillar of Ghana’s chieftaincy institution and one who ensured the unity and cohesiveness of not only his traditional area but the Upper West Region as a whole.

Mr Mahama also paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Wa Traditional Area.

He was accompanied by NDC’s General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia, NDC’s First Vice-Chairman Chief Sofo Azorka, former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, the Upper West Regional Chairman and his executives and other senior members of the party from the region.
