Military assaults eyewitness at alleged McDan property demolition site

An innocent man in his thirties was violently assaulted by heavily armed military personnel and National Security operatives at a warehouse property in the plush Spintex area, reportedly linked to businessman Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan.
The disturbing incident, which has gone viral on social media, unfolded when the man, identified as an eyewitness, attempted to speak to a Joy News journalist about the circumstances surrounding an ongoing demolition exercise at the site.
According to the video footage, the man was about to introduce himself on camera when one of the military officers interrupted the live interview, ordering him to leave.
The confrontation quickly escalated as the officer slapped the man, followed by a brutal onslaught from four other military personnel and two National Security operatives, who joined in assaulting the defenseless individual.
The victim was repeatedly slapped, kicked, and forced to the ground in full view of the camera, sparking widespread public outrage and calls for accountability.
While the reason behind the demolition remains unclear, sources suggest that the property may be the subject of a land dispute between McDan and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
However, no official statement has been issued by either party regarding the incident or the demolition.
The assault has drawn condemnation from human rights activists and media stakeholders, who have described it as an abuse of power and a direct attack on press freedom and the rights of civilians.
Calls are mounting for a full investigation into the incident, with many urging the military high command and National Security to identify and sanction the officers involved.
As of now, the condition of the assaulted man remains unknown, and Joy News has yet to comment on the safety of its crew who were present during the ordeal.
