NPP race: Presidential staffer declares support for Ken Agyapong

Presidential staffer George Atsu Egbenunya has declared his support for New Patriotic Party flagbearer aapirant Kennedy Agyapong in the upcoming presidential primary scheduled for November 4, 2023.
Mr Egbenunya believes that Mr. Agyapong poses the most significant threat to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections, surpassing any other potential candidate.
According to him, the NDC is well aware that Mr. Agyapong enjoys greater popularity among the Ghanaian populace than the flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr John Dramani Mahama and is the only candidate who could potentially deny them victory in the next elections.
Speaking to journalists after Mr. Kyerematen's withdrawal from the party's presidential primaries, Mr Egbenunya emphasised Mr. Agyapong's standing as the second most-admired personality in Ghana.
He believes that Mr Agyapong is the candidate who can help the NPP realise its goal of breaking the political jinx of power changing hands every eight years.
Mr Egbenunya expressed his commitment to supporting candidates who have a track record of working toward the NPP's objective of securing victory in the 2024 elections.
He made it clear that he would not endorse any candidate who cannot contribute to achieving this goal.
Mr Egbenunya praised Mr Kyerematen for his consistent dedication in ensuring the NPP's victory in the 2024 elections, asserting that he (Alan) is the deserving choice for the party's flagbearership position.
Furthermore, he described Mr. Agyapong as a highly competent individual with an untarnished reputation, highlighting his appeal as the ideal candidate to lead the nation.
