Over 200 VALCO workers protest planned sale of company amid job loss fears

A protest by VALCO workers

More than 200 workers of the Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO) have staged a protest against the planned sale of the company, citing concerns over potential job losses.

The workers argue that selling the State-owned aluminium producer could put hundreds of jobs at risk and negatively affect the livelihoods of employees and their families.

The protesters are calling on the government and relevant authorities to reconsider the decision and engage workers in discussions before any final agreement is reached.

They insist that protecting jobs and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the company should remain a priority.
