PRINPAG opens Book of Condolence for late media practitioner Edward Elorm Kobla Desewu
The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has announced the opening of a Book of Condolence in honour of the late Mr. Edward Elorm Kobla Desewu, a respected journalist and former executive member of the Association.
In a statement issued on December 29, 2025, PRINPAG confirmed that Mr. Desewu passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025, after a short admission at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital.
Mr. Desewu was the Founder and Managing Editor of The Economy Times newspaper and served the media fraternity in various leadership roles, including Secretary of PRINPAG and PRINPAG’s representative on the National Media Commission (NMC).
He was widely regarded as a strong advocate for journalistic excellence and ethical media practice in Ghana.
With over two decades of professional experience, Mr. Desewu was noted for his contribution to financial and economic journalism, industrial communication and public education for national development.
PRINPAG described him as a dedicated professional whose passion, integrity and selfless service earned him admiration across the media industry.
As part of activities to honour his memory, PRINPAG will open a Book of Condolence at its National Secretariat in Kokomlemle, near the Movie House Plaza.
Members of the Association, colleagues and sympathisers are invited to sign the book from Tuesday, December 30, 2025, to Thursday, January 1, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day.
PRINPAG has encouraged all its members to participate in the exercise as a mark of respect and solidarity in honouring the legacy of the late journalist.
The Association also called on members and the general public to remember the bereaved family in prayers and to offer support during the period of mourning.
Details of funeral arrangements, it said, will be communicated in due course.
Mr. Edward Elorm Kobla Desewu is remembered as a towering figure in Ghana’s media landscape whose contributions will continue to serve as a benchmark for excellence in journalism.
