Prez. John Mahama to receive Bawku mediation report on Dec. 11
President John Dramani Mahama is set to receive the official Bawku Mediation Report on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at a ceremony scheduled for the Jubilee House in Accra.
The presentation marks a significant step in national efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in Bawku and nearby communities. The report reflects months of mediation led by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at resolving the long-running tensions in the area.
Thursday’s event, which begins at 10:00 a.m., will bring together senior government officials, traditional rulers, members of the mediation committee, and other distinguished guests. It is expected to underscore the shared resolve of state bodies, faith-based organizations, traditional institutions, and development partners to strengthen social harmony in the region.
Invited institutions include the National Peace Council, the Christian Council, the Office of the National Chief Imam, the Catholic Secretariat, UNDP, the British High Commission, and key regional authorities such as the Ministers for the Upper East and North East Regions, as well as representatives of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs and the National Security apparatus.
