The Public Relations Coordination Division (PRCD) of the Information Services Department(IDS) has embarked on a monitoring initiative to evaluate the performance of the Public Relations (PR) unit at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

The activity is part of the division’s annual calendar aimed at appraising the effectiveness and professionalism of Government Public Relations Officers (PROs) across various MMDAs.

Led by Rev. Charlotte Hanson, a team of officers from the PRCD conducted an assessment through interactions and evaluations with Management at the Sports Ministry.

They were received by the Chief Director, the Director of Human Resources, and the Director of Finance and Administration.

During the visit, the team engaged with Mrs. Wilhelmina Asamoah, the Chief Director of the Ministry.

She provided firsthand insights into the work ethic and conduct of the PROs, praising their proactive and decisive approach in executing their duties.

“The PROs have demonstrated a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and dedication in protecting the image of the ministry,” Mrs. Asamoah stated.

She acknowledged the positive contributions of the PR team but also emphasised that there is still room for improvement.

The Chief Director assured her support for the PR unit to foster continuous excellence and effective communication. Meanwhile, Rev. Hanson expressed gratitude to the Ministry for the supportive environment that allows the PR unit to function optimally, promising ongoing efforts to enhance PR performance.

This initiative underscores the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening its communication strategies and ensuring that its Public Relations Officers uphold the highest standards of professionalism and responsiveness.
