The Managing Director of the TDCGhana Limited, Mr Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, has strongly denied allegations of land-grabbing and military-backed intimidation, describing a recent report by 3News.com as “damaging to my reputation” and threatening legal action against both the media outlet and the reporter involved.

The denial came during a phone call initiated by Mr. Nunekpeku’s office in response to an earlier inquiry from 3News.com.

The allegations stem from a legal suit filed by a homeowner, Derrick Hope Gidzi, who claims that the TDC boss unlawfully seized his property in Community 25 for private development with the support of armed military personnel.

According to court documents filed at the High Court in Tema, Mr. Gidzi is seeking an interlocutory injunction to prevent further development or sale of the disputed land.

He alleges that:

He legally acquired Plots 3 and 4 HOS in Community 25 from TDC over ten years ago, well before Mr. Nunekpeku assumed office.

On June 21, 2025, the TDC MD allegedly entered the land with armed military men and began construction.

Despite his objections and confrontations, development has continued “day and night.”

The structures under construction are reportedly commercial shops, which he claims will cause “irreparable damage” to his interests.

3News.com has reviewed video footage purportedly showing construction work ongoing at night.

In one of the clips, a person can be heard saying they are hiding to avoid being seen while filming.

“I Don’t Grab Land. I Don’t Work in the Night.”

In his call to 3News.com, Mr. Nunekpeku firmly rejected the accusations. “I don’t grab land. The heading you put there and put my name there, I don’t grab land. I don’t work in the night,” he said.

He further expressed displeasure that the report was published without his side of the story.

“You’ve not contacted me. You’ve not heard my side of the story.

Before you realize, you go and put it out there,” he stated, accusing the platform of damaging his public image.
