Takoradi–Cape Coast highway dualisation: President Mahama cuts sod Thurs Oct 21
President John Dramani Mahama will on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, cut the sod for the commencement of construction works on the dualisation of the Takoradi–Cape Coast highway.
The ceremony forms part of the president’s one-day working visit to the Western Region.
The project, which falls under the government’s Big Push initiative, is among 32 major road projects highlighted in the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review.
The long-awaited expansion of the busy corridor is a key component of government’s national infrastructure agenda, aimed at boosting economic growth, attracting investment, and creating jobs across the country.
During his visit, President Mahama is also expected to inspect ongoing expansion and renovation works at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and the Western Regional Hospital.
