Tetegu: Cocoa factory coming – MCE

News
The Chief Executive of the Weija/Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Mr Patrick Kwasi Brago Kumor, has disclosed that the Akufo-Addo-led government will be constructing a cocoa processing factory at Tetegu in the Greater Accra Region as part of its One District-One Factory flagship programme.

Mr Kumor said the move is to create job opportunities for the youth within the catchment area.

He disclosed this in an interview with Class News on the sidelines of a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of an 8-unit classroom block for schoolchildren within the community.

When done, schoolchildren will no more have to trek several kilometres along the Accra-Kasoa highway from Tetegu to Oblogo to school.

Mr Kumor noted that the current situation has led to the deaths of several schoolchildren who were knocked by cars as they crossed the highway.

The MCE further noted that to develop the community, there is an ongoing construction of a health facility and plans are further underway to prevent the rampant flooding in the area due to the spillage of the Weija Dam annually.
