UK High Commissioner hosts Ghana Olympic Committee delegation ahead of 2026 Commonwealth Games
Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Zita Benson, on November 27, 2025, welcomed a delegation from the Ghana Olympic Committee/Commonwealth Games Association of Ghana (GOC/CGA) as part of their working visit to the UK. The visit formed part of preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, set to take place in Glasgow from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
The delegation was led by the President of the GOC, Mr. Richard Akpokavie, who underscored the need for enhanced collaboration with the High Commission to ensure Ghana’s successful participation in the Games.
He noted that the support of the Mission would be crucial in advancing Ghana’s interests and strengthening long-term cooperation.
High Commissioner Benson reaffirmed the High Commission’s full commitment to providing all necessary assistance to position Ghana for an outstanding performance at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
She assured the team of the Mission’s readiness to work closely with the GOC/CGA as preparations intensify for the international sporting event.
