3 arrested in connection with lynching of Liberian national in Greater Accra
The Sakumono District Police Command has arrested three men in connection with the alleged mob killing of 26-year-old Liberian national Austin Tengeeh near Lashibi in the Greater Accra Region.
Francis Amuzu, 44, William Adison, 36, and Vincent Adzikah, 34, the suspects, are currently in police custody.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been taken to the Sakumono Community Hospital as authorities follow the necessary diplomatic protocols.
According to a police report, the Sakumono District Patrol Team received an urgent call on 27 February 2026 reporting that a man had been violently attacked by a group of people near the offices of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) at Lashibi.
Officers who responded discovered Austin Tengeeh lying unconscious with visible injuries to his neck and head.
Investigations suggest that the mob had mistaken him for a thief.
He was immediately transported to the Sakumono Community Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
In response, the National Police Headquarters’ Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team has launched a manhunt for additional suspects believed to have been involved in the crime alongside the three arrested men.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to identify and apprehend all individuals implicated in the incident.
