9 suspected drug dealers arrested at “Vegas Ghetto”
A team of police officers from the National Police Operations, led by Chief Superintendent Mr Hlomenu, arrested nine drug dealers at the Achimota “Vegas Ghetto” in Accra during an intelligence-led operation on Wednesday, 22 January 2020.
Items retrieved from the suspects include several parcels of wrapped white substances and dried leaves believed to be narcotics.
The operation is part of the police administration’s resolve to weed out criminals from the Ghanaian society.
The police said such intelligence-led preventive policing and strategic operational exercises will continue to ensure that law and order is achieved before, during and after this year's general elections.
The police has encouraged the public to assist with information on criminal activities by calling 191 and 18555 in cases of emergency.
