The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into a viral video showing alleged misconduct involving a policewoman in the Afrancho/Akomadan District.

In the video, the female officer, in a uniform, is seen apparently confronting a man who appears to be filming her with a mobile phone. The officer, who appears to be upset by the recording, is seen throwing a leg kick towards the man or his phone. She is later seen picking up a brick, which appears to be used as a door stopper, and approaching the man before two individuals, including a man who appears to be a uniformed police officer, intervene.

In a statement, the Regional Police Command said the officer featured in the video has been identified and investigations have commenced to establish the full facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, which is reported to have occurred on July 3, 2026.

The police said appropriate action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigations.

The command also assured the public of its commitment to professionalism, discipline and accountability, adding that further updates would be provided as the investigations progress.
