A/R: Prostitutes stab client to death; angry youth burn brothel
A brothel at Sokoban Wood Village in the Kumasi metropolis of the Ashanti Region has been set ablaze by some aggrieved youth after their colleague allegedly got stabbed by prostitutes.
The 20-year-old man whose name was only given as ‘Tupac’ was said to have been attacked by some of the prostitutes after enjoying their service.
His remains were found in front of the brothel on Thursday morning, 24 October 2019.
The alleged murder angered some friends of the deceased man who spontaneously mobbed and attacked the prostitutes with clubs and other crude weapons before setting the wooden brothel ablaze.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service were deployed to the scene to maintain peace and order while firefighters were also called to quench the inferno.
Some suspects have been picked up in connection with the incident by the police.
Some of the prostitutes who spoke to Kumasi FM's Elisha Adarkwah said they were brutally attacked and beaten by the youth.
They indicated that all of their belongings have been lost to the fire and now rendered penniless.
The Unit Committee Chairman for the area, Mr Christian Owusu said the brothel would be demolished.
