A/R: Robbers shoot, injure 2 of 5 gold dealers
Two gold dealers have been shot and robbed by armed robbers at Mosikrom in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.
The two were among five gold dealers, who were robbed by about six armed robbers around 4:00 am today, Thursday, 17 June 2021.
The Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for the area, Mr Edward Oduro Nsiah, told Kumasi FM's Elisha Adarkwah that the two victims allegedly resisted the gun-wielding men from robbing them and in the process, were shot in the leg.
They were rushed to St. Martins Hospital at Agroyesum but have been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
The NADMO Director said the doctors have advised that the victims' severely-damaged legs be amputated.
The Amansie West Police command has commenced investigations into the incident and on the heels of the armed robbers.
Mr Oduro Nsiah complained of rampant armed robbery attacks in the area.
