E/R: Man who stabbed Okada rider arrested
A man alleged to have stabbed a commercial motorbike (Okada) rider, Kwame Boamah, a.k.a Kwame Ayigbe, has been arrested by the police.
Kwame Ayigbe is alleged to have hired the services of the Okada operator, 19-year-old Fatawu Moro, on Wednesday, 8 January 2020, to transport him from Komeso with his unregistered Haojin motorbike to Akyem Afosu in the Eastern Region.
When they reached a spot between Akrofonso and Afosu, Kwame Ayigbe asked the victim to stop to enable him attend to nature’s call.
Upon stopping, Kwame Ayigbe stabbed Fatawu Moro and absconded with his motorbike.
The victim, who lost consciousness, was, however, rescued by a Good Samaritan who took him to the New Abrem Hospital for treatment, where he later regained consciousness.
The incident was reported to the police two days later by the victim.
Kwame Ayigbe was arrested by the police in a different town and arraigned.
He appeared at the Koforidua Circuit Court B on Monday, 13 January but the case was adjourned to Tuesday, 28 January 2020.
