GA/R: Police arrest two suspects in Mallam robbery, one on the run
The Ghana Police Service has arrested three out of four suspects involved in a robbery incident at Mallam Junction early Thursday, October 16, 2025, in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects—Stephen Amoani (42), Osei Antwi (30), and Kwame Mike—were caught by the Amanfro District Police Command under the Weija Division after acting on intelligence.
Items recovered from suspect Osei Antwi include a black Honda CR-V with trade plate number DV 3145-2025, A bag containing GHC12,055, three yellow gallons of akpeteshie, and three mobile phones believed to be stolen: a Samsung A05, an iPhone 16, and an Itel Android phone.
However, Kwame Mike managed to escape custody after requesting to use the washroom.
The officer escorting him has been invited for questioning as part of ongoing investigations.
Stephen Amoani and Osei Antwi were summoned before the Weija Circuit Court on October 20, 2025.
Charges were read in Twi language,a nd both pleaded not guilty.
They've been remanded into police custody to reappear on November 10, 2025.
Police are now pursuing the fourth suspect, Kofi Sammy, who escaped while wielding a pump-action gun.
The Accra Regional Police Command is intensifying efforts to detain suspects Kwame Mike and Kofi Sammy in connection with an ongoing investigation.
According to a statement signed by Ms. Juliana Obeng.(SUPT), Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the police have retained certain exhibits, including a vehicle, for evidential purposes.
The Accra Regional Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of residents and is urging the public to share any information that could aid in ongoing investigations and crime prevention efforts.
The public is encouraged to report any credible information to the police, and the command assures the public of its dedication to bringing the suspects to justice.
