N/R: 9 remanded for Kuyore shooting incident

The Tamale District Court has remanded nine suspects involved in the shooting incident that occurred at Kuyore in the Tatale Sanguli District of the Northern Region into prison custody.
The nine are facing charges for murder and abetment to cause harm.
They were arrested following the disruption of the enskinment of a sub-chief at Kuyore.
The shooting led to the death of one person on Friday, 10 December 2021.
Five others were injured and are still being treated at the hospital.
The Yagpuli community had challenged the enskinment of the chief leading to the incident.
According to the Northern Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga, the chief who did the enskinment was cautioned against his actions due to its repercussions.
He, however, did not heed the caution and went ahead with the enskinment of the sub-chief.
The chief has been arrested.
