Oyarifa Homowo: Four arrested in connection with machete attack

The Ghana Police Service apprehended four suspects following a brutal machete attack at the Oyarifa Homowo festival in Accra.
The incident left three people injured on Saturday, 7 September 2024.
The suspects include: Latif Bako, Ebenezer Ewuzie, Stephen Owusu, and Ebenezer Adjei. They are alleged to have assaulted festival attendees with machetes during the event.
The victims, alongside suspect Ebenezer Adjei, who also sustained injuries, are currently receiving medical care.
Police have taken suspects Latif Bako, Stephen Owusu, and Ebenezer Ewuzie, into custody, where they are assisting with ongoing investigations.
Efforts are underway to capture additional accomplices who are still on the run.
In a statement on social media platform X, the Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to upholding public safety, stating: “Anyone who disturbs the peace will be arrested and taken through the due process of the law.”
The police have also called on residents to provide any information that could aid in the arrest of the remaining suspects.
