Police arraigns social media pump-action gunman today
The police will today, Wednesday, 24 November 2021, arraign a man, Nii Ponponsuo, for making threatening utterances while wielding a weapon on social media.
The man was arrested on Monday, 22 November 2021.
He was captured in a viral video loading a pump-action gun with cartridges and making threatening remarks.
According to the police, after reviewing the video, it conducted a special exercise that led to the arrest of the suspect at his hideout.
The police, following a search, retrieved one 12 bore SB pump-action gun.
The suspect was held in police custody to assist with investigations.
The police cautioned the public, especially, individuals who have a penchant for displaying weapons and issuing threats, to desist from such unlawful acts.
The police also stressed: “Anyone arrested will be dealt with according to the law.”
