The Ghana Police Service has arrested four individuals in separate national security operations targeting illegal arms possession and the spread of false information.

According to a statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, the first suspect, identified as Daniel Adomako, alias “Sir Obama Pokuase,” was apprehended for the illegal possession and display of sophisticated weapons.

His arrest followed an intelligence-led crackdown on arms networks, with evidence including videos and images circulating on social media showing him in possession of the weapons.

In a related operation, three other suspects—Prince Ofori, Yayra Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye—were arrested on charges of issuing death threats and publishing false news concerning the 6 August helicopter crash.

The police revealed that these operations have already resulted in the “substantial retrieval” of illegal arms and ammunition, highlighting the effectiveness of multi-agency collaboration in enhancing national security.

“We reiterate our unwavering commitment to citizen safety by rooting out criminal elements and halting the proliferation of illegal arms,” the statement read.

The public has been urged to share credible information through official channels to support ongoing investigations.
