S/R: Man, 35, kills cousin, 50, for refusing to marry him
A 35-year-old man, Kpeyiri Neiba, has been arrested by the police at Sawla in the Savanna Region, for murdering his 50-year-old cousin Janet Ansaaku in the bush at Uro-Mekaa near Kalba.
According to a police situational report, the suspect, upon interrogation, confessed to the crime, stating that the deceased failed to marry him.
He dumped the dead body in the bush and when the police proceeded to the scene of the crime, they found the deceased lying in a prone position in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the head.
The deceased was clad in a black skirt with a white top.
The body was photographed before it was removed and deposited at the Sawla District Hospital for autopsy.
The police said a postmortem examination had been performed on the body and the report will be submitted later.
Meanwhile, the body has been released to the bereaved family for burial.
The suspect is in the custody of the police.
