W/R:Police intercept man with suspected indian hemp at Samreboi-Tanokrom checkpoint

The Asankragwa Division of the Western Central Regional Police Command intercepted a suspect, Daniel Yeboah, on Wednesday, July 31, 2025, at the Samreboi-Tanokrom snap checkpoint.

He was found in possession of two travel bags containing 66 compressed parcels suspected to be Indian hemp.

The items were being transported on a tricycle (commonly known as a "Pragia").

During initial questioning, Yeboah claimed the parcels were handed over to him by a woman in Wenchi, who allegedly paid him GH₵5,000 to deliver them to her at Mumuni Camp near Samreboi.

Police have launched a full-scale investigation and are actively working to locate and apprehend the woman mentioned in Yeboah's statement to assist with further inquiries.

Daniel Yeboah is scheduled to appear before court on Monday, August 4, 2025.

 

The Western Central Regional Police Command is appealing to the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.
