The Principal of Wesley College of Education (WESCO) in the Ashanti Region, Charlotte Rockson, has appealed to the government and philanthropists to come to the aid of the school with infrastructure.

She said the 100-year-old tertiary institution is bedeviled with infrastructure deficits and needs intervention.

The Principal said lecture halls of the College are inadequate and sometimes lessons are disrupted as a result.

Speaking at the launch of the 100th-anniversary of the College, she said they would need additional lecture halls to correspond to the student population.

Madam Rockson said the four-year bachelor of education programme currently runs in the college and increased enrolment has also put pressure on the halls of residence for students.

She pleaded that additional student accommodation facilities be built for the college to ease pressure on the existing structures.

While calling on the government for accommodation and offices for the staff and a science laboratory for the college, she pleaded that infrastructure which have been in the college for about 100 years be renovated and some replaced.
