85 Koforidua Senior Tech. Sch students surcharged 2k each for destruction of school property

Eighty-five students of the Koforidua Senior High Technical School have been suspended indefinitely for misconduct.
The students were suspended on Monday, 29 May 2023, after appearing before the school’s disciplinary committee.
Majority of the students who are in their final year will be allowed to take their final West Africa Senior School Certificate Exams (WASSCE).
The students attacked teachers and students of the New Juaben Senior High School on Sunday, 14 May 2023.
This left some of their colleagues with machete wounds leading to one of the students becoming partially paralysed.
Four of the students were arrested when the incident occurred.
Headmaster of the school Ofori Antwi revealed the Board and Management of the school decided that the students be charged an amount of GHS2000 each to cover for the cost of the destruction to school property.
Prefects of the school have also been demoted as well.
Meanwhile, form two students of the school, who were part of the attack, are expected to report with a letter to the Police in order to be aided to look for accommodation close to the school’s campus.
