The Archbishop of Perez Chapel International, Charles Agyinasare, has been honoured as the Prized Alumnus of Accra Metropolitan University during its latest graduation ceremony, where he delivered a moving and reflective address to graduates and dignitaries.

Archbishop Agyinasare, widely known for his global evangelical work across 96 nations and his leadership of the 14,000-seater Perez Dome in Accra, was recognised for his academic achievement after completing a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management (MBA-HRM) at the university.

Speaking at the convocation, at which IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno and Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai were conferred with honorary doctorates, the Archbishop, who is also the Honorary Chancellor of Perez University College, expressed deep gratitude to the university’s leadership, particularly Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Goski Alabi, for her “visionary leadership, scholarly guidance, and ethical supervision” throughout his academic journey.

“Prof. Goski was not only a leader but a relentless academic mentor,” the Archbishop said, recalling her insistence on excellence in every aspect of his work. “She would query sections and have me rewrite them—again and again—until the work rose to the level of excellence that this university is known for.”

Archbishop Agyinasare, also the Honorary Chancellor of Perez University College, highlighted the challenges of balancing ministry with the demands of academic life, noting the flexible yet rigorous approach of Accra Metropolitan University.

“I needed a dynamic, responsive, and forward-thinking institution that understood that leadership today is not confined to a classroom or a clock. I needed a university that could move with me across time zones, and I found that in Accra Metropolitan University,” he noted.

“Whether I was in Amsterdam, Port Harcourt, or Miami, I remained connected, challenged, and transformed. It stretched me, yes—but it also shaped me. And that, I believe, is the mark of a truly global institution,” he remarked.

The Archbishop noted that the MBA programme had significantly enhanced his leadership capacity beyond the theological and ministerial fields. “It has bridged the sacred and the strategic,” he said, allowing him to better understand organisational behaviour, human capital development, and ethical leadership from an academic perspective.

Now a PhD candidate in Business Leadership at Transcontinental University’s Graduate School of Business in Malta, Archbishop Agyinasare credits his MBA experience with laying a solid foundation for his current doctoral studies. “The critical thinking, time management, and research foundation I acquired here have been instrumental,” he added.

Addressing fellow graduates, the Archbishop urged them to see their achievements not merely as academic milestones but as mandates for transformational leadership.

“Leadership in the 21st century demands more than charisma—it requires clarity of vision, emotional intelligence, strategic agility, and ethical responsibility,” he said. “We are returning to communities that need hope, structure, and vision—and we are the vessels.”

He concluded with a charge to graduates to lead with “wisdom, compassion, and conviction,” thanking the university for creating a learning environment where “purpose meets preparation.”

The ceremony was attended by university founders, members of parliament, governing council members, faculty, family, and friends, all celebrating the achievements of a diverse graduating class.
