Akufo-Addo begs for mercy for students who insulted him
President Nana Akufo-Addo has asked for mercy for some eight students of the Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region, who rained insults on him in a videotape on campus.
A statement from the Ministry of Education said the president intervened in the matter after it was brought to his attention.
Minister of Education Yaw Adutwum has, thus, directed the Ghana Education Service “to consider an alternative disciplinary action instead of dismissal”.
The students apologised to the president via social media after the incident.
