Chiana SHS students captured on viral video insulting Akufo-Addo dismissed
The female students of the Chiana Senior High School (SHS) in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region who were caught on video insulting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the challenges confronting their school, have been directed to handover all school property in their possession to school authorities and go home.
This comes on the back of deliberations between the Ghana Education Service (GES) and management of the Chiana SHS.
The eight students were directed to go home based on a letter by the Director-General of the GES, Dr Eric Nkansah.
The said students in a viral video, in November 2022, were seen vehemently insulting the President, over his failure to address challenges that are confronting the school and the economy at large.
The GES had launched a probe into the matter after the video of the students, who then in their second year, went viral.
