GA/R: Amasaman MP, MCE breaks ground for six-unit classroom block and teachers’ bungalows in Manhean
The Member of Parliament for Amasaman, Mr Sedem Kweku Afenyo, together with the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr John Desmond Sowah Nai, has cut the sod for the construction of a new six-unit classroom block for the Manhean community.
The ceremony, held on Monday, 1st December 2025, marks the beginning of a major educational infrastructure project designed to improve teaching and learning conditions in the area.
The classroom block will come with a library, staff common room, and a 10-seater toilet facility, providing a conducive environment for both pupils and teachers.
In addition to the classroom block, the project also includes a separate building containing four one-bedroom self-contained units, which will serve as a teachers’ bungalow to support accommodation needs and enhance teacher retention in the community.
The sod-cutting event was attended by Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members, traditional authorities, stakeholders, and members of the general public, who hailed the initiative as a significant milestone for Manhean.
Speaking at the ceremony, local leaders expressed optimism that the project would boost educational outcomes and reduce infrastructural deficits in the area.
Construction is expected to commence immediately.
