The Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), operating under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, will officially launch its new Campus Tourism Office at the University of Ghana, Legon, in a move aimed at deepening tourism awareness and participation among students and the university community.

The event, scheduled for 11 AM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, will take place at Legon Hall Annex B on the university campus.

The launch is being held in collaboration with the University of Ghana and is expected to serve as a strategic step toward integrating tourism promotion into academic spaces, encouraging domestic travel, and nurturing young ambassadors for Ghana’s tourism sector.

Delivering the keynote address as Guest Speaker will be Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts. She is expected to outline government efforts to strengthen the tourism value chain and highlight the importance of youth involvement in preserving and promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage.

Also attending as Special Guest is Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, whose presence underscores the institution’s commitment to partnerships that enhance student opportunities and national development.

According to organisers, the Campus Tourism Office will provide students and staff with easier access to tourism information, travel packages, heritage education, and opportunities within the creative and hospitality industries. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to decentralise tourism services and make them more accessible to young people.

The office will also act as a hub for campus-based tourism campaigns, internships, and experiential learning programmes aligned with Ghana’s goal of positioning tourism as a key driver of economic growth and job creation.
