Jobless graduate teachers picket GES for postings

Education
Some teachers have been posted, others have not

Some angry unemployed teachers who completed the various colleges of education in 2018, on Thursday, 9 January 2020, besieged the headquarters of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Accra to demand postings.

Some of them told the media that life has been unbearable for them and their families following the failure of the GES to employ them.

They said the GES has not given them any explanation for their inability to post them, hence, the decision to picket the headquarters.

“The non-posting has affected me in many ways because for now, I can’t eat, I can’t go out and my mother is no longer taking care of me because she feels all the money she invested in me has gone to waste. I am really suffering and it is an embarrassment because I graduated with many other people and I am still in the house,” an angry unemployed teacher said.

Another said: “Per what is going on, the GES has not given us any encouraging information as to why they have not posted us. We don’t know why, since we have passed all the requirements.”

“Since we came, they have not given us any tangible reason. The PRO just came out and told us that they are on it. We asked him when the posting is going to be done and he said he can’t assure us of the exact date,” another complained.
