Mass failure: Law students to march, petition Akufo-Addo
Students of the Ghana School of Law are planning to demonstrate on Monday, 7 October 2019 and also present a petition to President Nana Akufo-Addo concerning the recent mass failure of students who sat the entrance exam for gain admission into the Ghana School of Law to pursue their two-year professional course after gaining their LLB.
Out of the 1,820 students who sat for the paper, only 128 passed.
A statement issued by the students representative council of the Ghana School of Law, said: “We will be demonstrating on Monday, 7 October 2019. We shall present a petition to the President of the Republic”.
Also, the statement said: “The Executive Council of the Ghana School of Law, immediate past presidents of law students’ associations of some law faculties and other student leaders have resolved to form the National Association of Law Students”.
The SRC said the decisions mentioned above were taken at the meeting.
“While we prepare to demonstrate, we are all encouraged to post on all social media platforms about our plight using the hashtags #OpenUpLegalEducation and #RedMonday”.
