Ketu North MP, Eric Edem Agbana, has criticised past and present governments for consistently neglecting the Ohawu Agricultural College despite its crucial role in Ghana’s agricultural development. 

In a Facebook post on Saturday, August 2, Mr Agbana bemoaned the institution’s deteriorating conditions and urged immediate intervention.

“For far too long, successive governments have failed to give Ohawu Agric College the attention it deserves,” he stated. 

“It is disheartening that an institution with such immense potential continues to be overlooked.”

The MP recalled that campaign promises were made in 2016, 2020, and 2024 to elevate the college to university status, but none had been fulfilled. 

“As the representative of the chiefs and people of Ketu North, where this prestigious college is located, I consider it my duty to lead the charge,” he wrote.

Mr Agbana acknowledged recent discussions with the Minister of Education, describing them as “encouraging” and a source of “renewed hope” for the college’s future. 

“His commitment offers renewed hope that this long overdue transformation can finally be delivered,” he noted.

He concluded his message with a firm pledge to the people of his constituency: “We will not relent in our advocacy.

This is not just about keeping promises—it is about creating a better future through investment in agriculture and education.”
