UTAG-UCC rejects termination of VC’s appointment

The University of Cape Coast Branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-UCC) condemned the University Council's decision to terminate the appointment of Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong as Vice-Chancellor.
In a statement, they argue that the Council Chair's action is unilateral, violates ongoing court proceedings, and lacks legal merit.
UTAG-UCC asserts that the renewal of Prof. Boampong's term was legally compliant and calls for the withdrawal of the termination letter, accusing the Council Chair of bad faith.
They urged the government to remove the Chairman and emphasize adherence to legal and statutory frameworks, warning of resistance to any contrary actions.
