Wisconsin University to offer free classes for Free SHS students; slashes MBA fees by 35%

Wisconsin International University College has revealed plans to roll out free extra classes for Free SHS students on the double-track system, as part of the university’s Corporate Social Responsibility drive.

The President of WIUC, Professor Obeng Mireku, disclosed this at the university’s 18th Matriculation Ceremony on Saturday, October 9, 2021.

He urged the matriculants, comprising 2,033 females representing (74.8%) and 686 males representing (25.2%), to uphold their part of the bargain by working hard, exercising integrity, and seizing all opportunities available for their betterment.

He said: “Investing in your education at this level, has come at great cost and sacrifice to many of you, and your families with huge expectations at the end. On our part, we the management, faculty and staff of Wisconsin pledge to do all that is in our power to help you achieve your full potential.”

“We have procured state-of-the-art facilities for our Law, Nursing, Communications and IT students. Throughout the course of your study, we will also provide numerous opportunities for you to develop your skills, expand your networks and prepare you for the industry, career advancement and entrepreneurship.”

He added that as part of the “University’s Corporate Social Responsibility drive, the Centre will commence free extra classes for Free SHS students on the double-track system who will be taught by experts and examiners.”

He further announced a 35% slash in fees for local MBA programmes to help more students earn more after their first degrees.

“As you may be aware, increased competition in the job market has reduced the value of the first degree. In light of this, we at Wisconsin have made it easy for our students to earn more. I am happy to announce to you that in order to ensure a sound progression, our local MBA fees have been slashed by about 35%.”

The Special Guest of Honour at the Matriculation, Dr. Patrick Kudjo, who is an alumnus and now a lecturer there, encouraged the students to take up challenges, be resourceful and utilise opportunities available to them to better their lot.

He also charged them to add value to themselves in order to achieve their dreams and aspirations.
