Angry NDC supporters demand overhaul of Bui Power Authority workforce

A group of individuals claiming allegiance to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) staged a dramatic protest at the premises of the Bui Power Authority (BPA) on Saturday, January 11, 2025, demanding the dismissal of the Authority's workforce.
In a video that has since gone viral, the protesters called for the immediate removal of all BPA employees, from management to security staff, asserting that the NDC's return to power necessitates a complete overhaul of the organization.
The group’s spokesperson attributed their demands to dissatisfaction with the Authority's performance over the past eight years, which they claimed reflected poor leadership and mismanagement.
“We are here to tell anybody that has been employed, from management to security, that now our government is in power,” the spokesperson declared emphatically.
The protesters criticized the BPA for what they described as stagnation in national progress, demanding new leadership to align with the NDC's vision for the country's development.
“All those people must pack their baggage and leave because, for the past eight years, we’ve seen nothing.
If anything, we should have seen our country growing and getting better. We are fed up,” the spokesperson stated.
The group insisted their demands were non-negotiable, with the spokesperson boldly asserting, “Not even John Mahama will stop us because the country belongs to all of us.”
