Apology accepted: Mahama to Asempa FM
Former President John Mahama has accepted the public apology of Asempa FM, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group Limited over the conduct of one of its staff.
In a reaction on Facebook to the apology, Mr Mahama commented, “Accepted”, as he posted a copy of the media house’s apology letter on his page on Tuesday, 12 November 2019.
The management of the Accra-based station requested forgiveness from the former President after one of its on-air staff, Nana Akua Acheampong Sarfo-Adu, made hostile statements against the NDC flag bearer.
In a letter dated Tuesday, 12 November 2019, addressed to Mr Mahama and signed by its Programmes Director, Samuel Yirenkyi, the Multimedia Group said: “Nana Akua, while presenting one of our shows, dubbed: 'Kanawu', used words that were unpleasant to your person.
“As a result, the management of the station wishes to unreservedly apologise to you on its own behalf and on behalf of the presenter, Nana Akua Acheampong Sarfo-Adu.”
The management of the station also indicated that it has taken necessary measures to prevent the incident from recurring.
