Ashanti mortuary workers warn against false claims

General News
Mortuary workers fume over false claims

The Ashanti Regional branch of the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has strongly denied recent allegations suggesting that some of its members engage in inappropriate acts with corpses.

Speaking at a press briefing, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Association, Mr. Ebenezer Toku-Amankwa, described the claims as completely false and deeply damaging to the reputation of mortuary workers across the country.

“We are extremely disturbed by these baseless allegations.

They are not only untrue but have the potential to destroy the image of our noble profession,” Mr. Toku-Amankwa stated.

He accused certain individuals and bloggers of deliberately spreading misinformation aimed at tarnishing the dignity of mortuary workers.

He urged the public to treat such rumours with the contempt they deserve.

The Association has issued a stern warning, stating that anyone found circulating false information about mortuary workers will face legal consequences.

“We will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who continues to spread these damaging falsehoods,” the Association warned.
