Deputy Trade Minister fetes children at Koforidua Hospital
The deputy minister of Trade and Industry, as part of the festive season, has held a party for child patients at the Koforidua Regional Hospital in the New Juaben South Constituency of the Eastern Region.
Mr Michael Okyere Barfi, who is also the Member of Parliament for the New Juaben Constituency, on Boxing Day, interacted with the children and their mothers as well as the health officers stationed at the children’s ward.
According to the deputy minister, the charity event was to put a smile on the faces of the children admitted to the ward.
The deputy minister made this known to the media after he joined members of his campaign team to share food with the patients.
He said: “I took the decision to organise a modest party for the sick children and their parents, who have left the comfort of their homes to take care of them at the hospital as well as the health workers”.
The deputy minister also took the opportunity to donate about 50 scrubs to the nurses at the children’s ward.
