EC extends voter roll exhibition
The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced the extension of the period for the nationwide exhibition of the voter roll from Tuesday, 17 September 2019 to Friday, 20 September 2019.
In view of that all persons who registered for their voter ID cards from 2012 to 2019 are entreated to visit designated exhibition centres across the country to check their names and particulars.
The information, which was communicated through a press release signed by the Acting Director of Public Affairs of the EC, Mrs Sylvia Annoh, and released on Saturday, 14 September 2019, also encouraged the general public to provide the necessary information on dead and unqualified persons for their names to be removed from the register.
The 10-day exercise, which began on Tuesday, 10 September 2019, is part of preparations for the upcoming referendum on the participation of political parties in district-level elections.
It will also afford voters the opportunity to authenticate their details in the register.
