Eid-ul-Fitr: Bawumias pray for peaceful, united Ghana
Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife Samira Bawumia have prayed for a peaceful Ghana on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a video message to mark this year’s Eid, Dr Bawumia urged all Muslims to continue to live by the virtues of piety beyond Ramadan.
He said: “May Allah keep our beautiful Ghana peaceful and united”.
“The past month has granted us spiritual fulfilment as it has re-awakened our sense of piety, sacrifice and generosity”, adding: “Let us continue to live by these virtues and be kind to each other beyond Ramadan”.
For her part, Samira Bawumia reminded Muslims and Ghanaians, in general, to continue to observe the safety protocols as COVID-19 is still in existence.
She said: “While we celebrate this special day with our friends and dear ones and family, let us remember the presence of COVID-19 and continue to observe all the safety protocols to protect ourselves and our loved ones”.
