Fire destroys Akyem Oda market
The main market center in Akyem Oda market in the Birim Central Municipality of Eastern Region has been gutted by fire.
The fire started Monday night.
Due to the lack of access road to the market, it took firefighters close to six hours to bring the inferno under control.
Property worth thousands of Ghana cedis belonging to traders have been lost in the inferno.
The cause of the fire is immediately not known.
Investigations have, however, commenced to unravel what started the fire.
