Fire destroys Kumasi church
This is the fourth fire outbreak in Kumasi within three days.
The Asafo Market was consumed by fire on Sunday, 21 April 2019 which resulted in the destruction of several thousand worth of properties.
Before that, the Kumasi Central Market had been gutted by an inferno on Good Friday, 20 April 2019 followed by an inferno at the Asafo Market a day later.
In the case of the church, the wooden shed which served as a worship centre was totally destroyed by the fire on Monday, 22 April 2019.
Firefighters battled the blaze for over three hours before subduing it.
Most of the instruments used for the church service were lost in the fire but no casualties were recorded, as no one was around the building at the time of the fire, except some labourers who were around the main facility.
