Free train ride for Accra-Nsawam commuters begins today

Free rail services for passengers would be provided for commuters from Accra to Nsawam today, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 and Friday, 14 February 2020.
This follows the completion of a successful test-run of the rail line by the Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL) and the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA).
The train will depart from the Nsawam station to Accra at 5:45 a.m. and depart from the Accra station to Nsawam at 5:30 p.m. each day.
The GRCL has assured the public that the rail line has been certified by GRDA, the regulator, that it is fit for commercial operations but any problem which may crop up during the period will be quickly addressed by GRCL engineers in the subsequent days after the free passenger service to ensure passenger safety and comfortability.
GRCL noted that the public will be informed when commercial service will commence.
