GJA convenes Emergency General Meeting ahead of 28th media awards

Journalists from all regions of Ghana will gather in Accra for the Ghana Journalists Association’s (GJA) Emergency General Meeting (EGM).
The meeting is scheduled for today, Friday, 27 September 2024, at the Ghana International Press Centre.
The high-stakes meeting, which commences at 11 a.m., carries the full authority of an Annual General Meeting (AGM), making it a crucial decision-making platform for the association.
In a statement, GJA General Secretary, Kofi Yeboah, stressed that the EGM is open to all members in good standing, and any decisions reached during the meeting will be binding on the association.
Key agenda items include the presentation of the General Secretary’s Annual Report for 2023, alongside the audited financial accounts for 2022–2023 by the National Treasurer.
Members will also have the opportunity to raise additional matters for consideration.
The EGM comes just a day before the 28th GJA Media Awards, slated for Saturday, 28 September 2024.
The prestigious awards ceremony will recognise excellence in journalism across multiple categories, continuing the GJA’s commitment to promoting professional standards and press freedom in the media landscape.
