Ghana Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Chamber of Commerce donates items to LEKMA hospital
Ghana Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Chamber of Commerce has urged Ghanaians to strictly comply with government's Covid-19 safety measures to contain and prevent spread of the pandemic to pave way for moves to ease restrictions on public gatherings, schools and churches.
His call comes at the period President Akufo-Addo is expected to wrap up consultations with stakeholders towards lifting up restrictions on public gatherings and schools this week.
Ghana's total covid-19 confirmed cases currently stands at 7, 117, with 34 deaths and 2, 317 recoveries.
According to the chamber, total adherence to government's robust safety protocols, will enable government to work around the clock to lift ban on public and commercial activities to put the Ghanaian economy back on track.
Speaking to Class News after presenting food items to LEKMA Hospital in Accra, Vice-President of Ghana Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Chamber of Commerce Stephen, Shum said “People have to adhere strictly to government's instructions, a lot of people are still not following government's instructions, it's important to observe the protocols to save families, so government sees the reason to lift the restrictions for economic growth”.
The chamber donated 400 units of essential consumables including rice, sunflower oil and milk to the front line Medical workers of LEKMA Hospital in Accra.
According to Stephen Shum, “It's part of our social responsibility, the presentation is in line with the chamber's aim to keep morale of frontline medical staff high, they are the keys to the well-being of all of us, now it's time for us to rise up to the challenge and act swiftly”, he told Class News.
On her part, Medical Superintendent of LEKMA Hospital, Dr Akua Gyima-Asante lauded the chamber for the gesture and promised the items will be used for the intended purposes.
Present at the donation ceremony were the Chairman of Ghana Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Chamber of Commerce Jacky Chen, Deputy Chairman Rainbow Lin, Director Jewel Chen and China Medical Team, Secretary General of the Association of Ghana Chinese Societies Stephen Shum and Dr Benjamin Anyagre of Ghana China Friendship Association.
