Ghana’s first female to be enlisted into the Police Service dies
The first female to be enlisted into the Police service during the Gold Coast era, Rosalind Asiama Nkansah has died.
She died on Saturday, 20 February, 2021 at the Police Hospital in Accra.
She was 91 years.
Recognised for fighting for the rights of other Police women during her time in the service, Police Woman One (PW/1) Rosemond Asiama Nkansah was enlisted into the Police Force in the Gold Coast at the age of 22 together with 11 other women.
The Police force had been dominated by men prior to her enlistment into the service.
