Ghana signs $2.3bn agreement for Skytrain project

The government has signed the $2.3 billion concession agreement for the construction of the Accra SkyTrain Project.

 

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 2nd Edition of the Africa Investment Forum - a forum aimed at raising capital, advancing projects to bankable stage, and accelerating financial closure of deals in South Africa on Monday, 11 November 2019.

The SkyTrain Project is expected to ease road traffic congestion in Accra.

Railway Development Minister Mr Joe Ghartey signed the agreement for Ghana.

The African Investment SkyTrain Consortium is made up of Wilson Bayly Holmes, a construction engineering company in South Africa; BUNENGI Group, a project development company focused on developing projects in infrastructure; and Ai Capital, the investment and financing arm of the Ai Group, one of the most influential international investment banking advisory groups focused on Africa.
