Ghana to host Int’l Federation of Surveyors working week
Ghana is billed to host the 2024 International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Working Week with France as the host Nation for the 2028 Congress.
This came to light at the just ended FIG conference held at Warsaw, Poland where the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Benito Owusu-Bio led a Ghanaian delegation to the all-important conference held from 11th - 15th September, 2022.
The Deputy Minister used the Poland meeting to announce some giant strides made by Ghana in land administration, Geospatial Information and Surveying practices amongst others.
He also used the platform to interact at a Ghana Focus Meeting on the sidelines of the FIG conference where he introduced to the international community on the readiness of Ghana to host the 2028 FIG Working Week in Accra, Ghana.
The Deputy Lands Minister also used the platform to visit the University of Science and Technology Warsaw and held fruitful discussions with the Rector on the need for scholarship and training for Ghanaian surveyors.
Mr Owusu-Bio was accompanied on the trip by Francis Manu-Adabor (Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Lands and Forestry), Deputy Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, Mr Jones Ofori Boadu and other officials of the Ministry.
